在當今所有的表演藝術形式(舞蹈、劇場、音樂、視覺藝術、電影、新媒體等),以及各類設計,或是仍在被發明出來的新呈現形式之中,「跨域合作」已是常態。同時,當科技的技術,不斷改造我們的生活模式、日常習慣與使用方式,身為一位音樂家,一位演奏家或創作者,要如何應用當代科技於音樂/聲音設計之中? 幾乎所有表演藝術,或是生活周遭的各類設計,都脫離不了的「需要音樂」。因此,我們可以怎樣從廳堂式的展演,從自己的專業平常,巧妙地融合其他藝術形式,跨出更多未知的、可能的演奏或創作的形式? 要跨出這些未知的可能,甚至創造未來的演奏或創作形式,同時擁有跨域的科技概念,以及程式寫作、媒體應用等技術,是一個重要的起點,也是串連不同領域的必備。如何讓專業、素養、學習歷程、價值觀等,形成一個成熟的音樂科技跨域合作的作品? 本課程從音樂作品基礎概念的引導開始,接著帶入音樂與其他表演藝術形式的合作經典範例,然後引導進行跨域製作專題之發想、策畫、以至執行的體驗過程。 課程內容亦可同時協助論文撰寫,或任何與音樂科技跨域合作相關之創作。從專題構思與辯證、實作與問題解決,以至完成期末專題製作。

第一週至第三週:專題構思與規劃
由任課教師帶領,與學生進行構思與提問,並將各類問題作系統性統整,以及音樂科技跨域合作之相關作品分析。

第四週至第六週:專題實作、分享、討論
媒合「跨域小組」並進入創意發想與辯證階段。參訪文化部空總聲響實驗室。

第七週至第十四週:實驗與資料蒐集
技術相關之實作,由任課教師協助統合協調之工作,以及問題解決之建議

第十五週至第十六週:期末專題成果展示與報告

In the diverse forms of performing arts such as dance, theater, music, visual arts, film, new media, etc., as well as emerging art forms, interdisciplinary collaboration has become the norm. Meanwhile, in almost all performing arts, MUSIC is ubiquitous. This may stem from its auditory nature, allowing for abstract perceptual experiences that can cleverly integrate with other art forms. In a concert, music naturally takes center stage. However, when music is to collaborate with other art forms, how much can it still "lead," rather than merely serving as an accompanying background? Or can music "lead" in such interdisciplinary collaborations?

In today's society and cultural environment, where interdisciplinary and hybridization are commonplace, young music students should pay attention to these issues. In the autumn of 2022, the Music Department at NTNU officially established the Master's program "Interdisciplinary Studies in Music and Technology," aimed at cultivating interdisciplinary-integration artists starting from music. During the course of study, starting from conceptual planning and production, students will engage in numerous collaborative projects involving music and other performing arts or various presentation forms, as well as the application of technological tools and hardware/software. Together, they will engage in interdisciplinary collaboration from speculation to conceptualization, from observation to cooperation, and from planning to execution.

The course begins with guiding the basic concepts of music creation, then introduces classic examples of collaborations between music and other performing arts forms. It then leads students through the experience of conceptualizing, planning, and executing cross-disciplinary projects.

The course content can also assist in thesis writing or any creative work related to cross-disciplinary collaboration in music technology. It covers the process from project ideation and debate, practical execution, and problem-solving to the completion of the final project.

Weeks 1 to 3: Project Ideation and Planning
Brainstorming and questioning, systematically organizing various issues, and analyzing relevant works in music technology and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Weeks 4 to 6: Project Implementation, Sharing, and Discussion
Cross-disciplinary teams will be formed, entering the creative ideation and debate phase. A visit to the C-Lab can be included.

Weeks 7 to 14: Experimentation and Data Collection
Practical and technical works will be undertaken, the team can together assist in coordination and provide problem-solving suggestions.

Weeks 15 to 16: Final Project Presentation
