This course, Intercultural Communication,  combines classroom learning (3 weeks) and online learning (13 weeks)

This course discusses how people from different cultural backgrounds endeavor to communicate. This course will examine the influence of culture on people's verbal and non-verbal language, perception, schema development, and management. Through lectures, discussion, film, case study, and projects, this course aims to help participants to:

  1. Learn the definition of culture and its influence on communication
  2. Understand how culture shapes visions of the world and ways of communication.
  3. Analyze problems of intercultural contact to understand possible solutions. 
  4. Apply knowledge of culture and communication to practical projects.
